Coming up to this summer season here at IconRadford we have gone off the beaten track – Gone Bush – discovering our beautiful back catalogue from Cole & Son with timeless papers emulating the beautiful outdoors. Each with a story to tell.
‘Going Bush’ invokes memories of hiking through the hills, walking along the beaten path, through the bush with bird song as a constant companion. We are lucky enough to have a beautiful country rich with outdoor tracks and beautiful scenes.
And in anticipation of ‘The Gardens’ we have foraged through every collection to bring to light the very best of lush forests, leafy looks and wildflowers. There is something for every climate and every space.
Inspired by the Majorelle Gardens in Marrakesh, Royal Fernery is a lush motif
of abundant leaves printed in chalky, all matte palettes of Khaki and Print Room Blue, Forest Green, Warm Grey, and the soft yet arresting Slate Blue and Blush Pink.
The design’s tapestry-like feel originates from an old French archive piece making the paper an opulent feature in any interior.
The much-loved Chiavi Segrete combines two influential Fornasetti motifs: mystical, dense leaves concealing golden, antique keys.
This fanciful design has a magical quality, drawing the eye through and around the leaves to discover each of the ‘secret keys’ hidden within. Muted shades give way to true-to-life tones of spring undergrowth, with seasonal twists of autumnal leaves and wintery greys.
It’s no wonder that Silvan forests feature so heavily throughout literature and folklore; the sense of being wholly enveloped upon stepping into an array of trees and undergrowth as far and wide as the eye can see creating an awe-inspiring feeling.
Translated here in Forest’s large-scale, intricately hand-painted, fantastical trees, the dappled light traverses through far off branches as the dense ground cover emits the warm and welcoming woody fragrance of childhood memories.
Cascade’s dense canopy of bursting florals and foliage sits in complement to Reverie’s expansive scene.
Each palette is an explosion of colour, naturally radiant and defiantly bright. Zesty greens are punctuated with vibrant marigolds and magenta, whilst facets of sapphire and forget-me-not are balanced with coral and violet, creating an effervescent and radiant all-over print.
